1. Course Description
This course introduces students to the principles, techniques, and professional practices of radio broadcasting and podcast production. Students develop competencies in audio storytelling, programme planning, scriptwriting, voice presentation, interviewing, field recording, studio production, audio editing, and digital distribution.
The course examines the characteristics of radio as a communication medium, programme formats, audience engagement, broadcast ethics, and emerging trends in on-demand audio media. Students gain practical experience in producing news bulletins, talk shows, interviews, documentaries, features, and podcast episodes using professional recording equipment and digital audio production software.
Practical studio and field sessions simulate professional broadcast environments, enabling students to work collaboratively through the complete audio production workflow—from concept development and recording to editing, mixing, and publication.
The course prepares students for advanced study and careers in radio broadcasting, podcast production, multimedia journalism, audio storytelling, and digital media production.
